AMERICAN PORTRAITS
American Portraits is an ongoing photo-collage series that seeks to honor the vast range of individual stories held within the American people. These hand-collaged portraits consider Americans from all walks of life, adorned with shared personal snapshots, revealing threads of ancestry and aspiration, a mix of hope, loss and dreams.
This body of work is still in a development stage. Each portrait set will be a large scale diptych depicting the subject's familial story across time: the first is a portrait of the subject "wearing" family photographs, and the second is an imagined site-specific monument to the stories shared.
